Still don’t have your card, don’t worry. Here is the procedure to apply it online. Just follow these simple steps and carry out the business. Remember any person, firm, joint venture can apply for PAN Card. For this, there is no any minimum and maximum age limit. Before walking into the procedure just know the significance of PAN CARD. The government of India issues certain identity cards to citizens on demand and some voluntarily; each has its own significance and utility. One Among such cards which are issued on demand is PAN CARD. The Permanent Account Number is a 10-digit alphanumeric number, issued by an Assessing Officer of the Income Tax Department-Ministry of Finance (Government of India).

Steps to apply online for PAN card :
1.Ensure you have DD/ Cheque of Rs 94 or you have credit card to pay the application fee online, just before  the start of online application for PAN,

3.So fill up your details without any error, Ward/ Circle, Range, Commissioner, Area Code, AO Code, Range Code and AO Number related information. This information can also be obtained from the Income Tax Office
4.Later fill the form. In that, you will also have to state your office address. If you don’t have then you can use your other address .After that submit the form.
5.Verify all entered information is truth full. If all information are correctly entered then enter the code shown at the bottom of page and click on “Confirm” button
6.Next one form will be appeared with Acknowledgment Number, That acknowledgment number is your unique reference number for PAN application, Kindly make a note of  this  number for tracking the status of your PAN application. Save and print this acknowledgment for future use. Following taking print of the Acknowledgment Form, paste your recent color photograph and sign with black ink ball pen on the acknowledgment importantly inside the box provided without touching the sides.
7.Affix Xerox copy of Proof of identity, Proof of address and Demand Draft (DD) of total Rs 94/- as fee with application.

8.Proof of identity: Submit a copy of any one of the following – School-leaving or matriculation certificate, recognized degree, credit card, bank account statement, passport, ration card, driving license, property tax assessment order, water bill, voter’s identity card, certificate of identification signed by a Member of Parliament or Legislative Assembly, Municipal Councilor or Gazetted Officer.
9.Proof of address: A copy of any one of the following will suffice – Bank account statement, passport, voter’s identity card, driving license, ration card, employer’s certificate, electricity or telephone bill, property tax assessment order, rent receipt or certificate of address signed by a Member of Parliament or Legislative Assembly, Municipal Councilor or Gazetted Officer.
10.Write your name and Acknowledgment Number on the back side of cheque/ DD.
11.If you are paying PAN application fee through cheque then deposit cheque in HDFC Bank in your city.
12.Checklist before sending Acknowledgment Form to NSDL office are Acknowledgment Form (With color photo and Signed ),Xerox copy of Proof of identity,Xerox copy of Proof of address, Demand Draft (DD) of amount Rs 94/-
13.Cite the envelope with 'APPLICATION FOR PAN - Acknowledgment Number' (e.g. 'APPLICATION FOR PAN - 881010100000097').
14.Application form should be sent to NSDL, 'Income Tax PAN Services Unit, National Securities Depository Limited, 3rd Floor, Sapphire Chambers, Near Baner Telephone Exchange, Baner, Pune- 411045 (Maharashtra).
15.The last and final issue  is Ensure the acknowledgment, Demand Draft, if any, and proofs, should reach NSDL within 15 days from the date of online application, Applications which are received with demand draft or cheque as mode of payment shall be processed only on receipt of relevant proofs and realization of payment only.
